Coursework Segment
The student is responsible learning the didactic material on the online learning platform. Students will be able to schedule one-on-one tutoring sessions with an experienced instructor should they need any additional help. Students have access to nationally standardized practice exams to prepare them for the National Registry of EMTs cognitive examination. Students must obtain a grade of 75% or higher to complete the Coursework Segment.
Skills Training Segment
Students must attend a total of 36 hours (four days) in person at one of our Texas training locations to learn, practice, and test psychomotor skills including:
- BLS Medical Assessment
- BLS Trauma Assessment
- Vital Signs
- Mechanical Aids to Breathing
- Cardiac Arrest/AED
- Bleeding Control
- Bandaging and Splinting
- Spinal Immobilization of Seated and Supine Patient
- Small Volume Nebulizer
- Epi-Auto Injector, and Epi IM Injection
- Supraglottic Airway
- CPAP
- Adult and pediatric direct orotracheal intubation
- Intravenous cannulation
- IO
- IV bolus
Completion Requirements
The student must successfully accomplish the following to complete the course:
- Obtain a grade of 75% or higher on the Coursework Segment
- Successfully return demonstrate all psychomotor skills during the Skills Training Segment
- Complete the course within 280 days (approximately 9 months)
