• Advanced EMT (AEMT)

We offer EMS courses taught according to the National EMS Education Standards and exceed all minimum requirements of the Texas Department of State Health Services.  This course is offered as a hybrid (online course with required breakout sessions) or traditional (in person) course.  Upon successful course completion, you will be eligible to take the National Registry of EMTs cognitive examination and apply for certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

What is an Advanced EMT?

The primary focus of the Advanced EMT (AEMT) is to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. AEMTs function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. AEMTs perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance. The AEMT is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.
